Phenyl trichlorosilane enhances silicone resins

Hits: 448 img

Since the phenyl trichlorosilane molecule contains three very active Si-Cl, which is a three-functional monomer, its most important use is to prepare silicone resins containing phenyl chains.
After hydrolyzing polycondensation of phenyl trichlorosilane and other raw materials in a mixed solvent composed of aromatic hydrocarbons and alcohols, silicone resin prepolymers can be prepared by chain extension reaction, and methyl phenyl vinyl silicone resin can be obtained by further catalytic polycondensation. Acetone solvent can be added to the hydrolysis system in order to avoid the production of gel during the hydrolytic polycondensation of phenyltrichlorosilane. The more acetone is used, the less gel is produced.
Hydroxyterminated methyl phenyl silicone resin prepared from phenyltrichlorosilane can be further prepared with glass fiber composite material, which has high bending strength and interlayer shear strength. The silicone resin cured at room temperature can be obtained by adding allyl triethoxysilane to the silicone elastic resin prepared from methyl and phenyl silicone monomers. The cured silicone resin has high strength, good flexibility, good bonding force with metal and composite materials and high temperature resistance.
