Properties and applications of organosilazane protective coatings

Hits: 449 img

As a new type of protective coating material, polysilazane can be converted into ceramic coating in an appropriate way for high temperature protection, and can be directly used as organic coating material to achieve anti-corrosion and anti-fouling functions, with thin layer dense, diverse functions, flexible process, and good combination with various substrates. Its many advantages make its application field is also very wide, such as in metal, ceramic, glass and other hard object surface, or organic materials, carbon material protection.

Some scholars have made relevant experiments, and the results show that the electrochemical impedance of the polysilazane coating reaches 107 Ω·cm2, which is much higher than the impedance of the uncoated coating sample 104 Ω·cm2, and it increases with the increase of curing temperature. This is because there are a large number of Si - H, Si - N and N - H active groups in polysilazane, and with the increase of temperature, these active functional groups further react, making the density of the coating further increase.
