Optimizing the leveling and stain-resistance properties of the paint film through the use of silicone oil in coatings.

Organic silicon additives are indispensable in the production of architectural coatings, industrial anti-corrosion paints, and water-based wood coatings. A small amount of silicone oil can solve common defects in the three major stages of coating production, application, and film formation, and is an essential raw material for high-end coating formulations.
During the coating mixing and spraying process, fine foams are easily generated, which can cause pinholes and blemishes on the paint film. Foaming and defoaming silicone oil can quickly break and suppress the foams, ensuring a smooth and flat paint film. During construction, leveling silicone oil reduces the surface tension of the coating, allowing the coating to spread evenly after brushing or spraying, eliminating brush marks and orange peel patterns, and enhancing the mirror-like gloss of the paint surface.
After the paint film is cured, the silicone oil migrates to the surface to form a hydrophobic protective film. The wall and metal paint surfaces are resistant to dirt and stains, and dust and rainwater are not easily adhered. Daily cleaning is simple. Outdoor coatings add weather-resistant silicone oil to resist ultraviolet rays and acid rain erosion, delay paint film flaking and fading, and extend the coating protection period.
Water-based coatings require the use of hydrophilic modified silicone oil to avoid oil-water separation; industrial heavy-duty anti-corrosion paints are paired with phenolic silicone oil to enhance high-temperature resistance and acid and alkali corrosion resistance. At present, domestic coating enterprises prefer to use low-ring body environmentally friendly silicone oil, which is compatible with domestic and international VOC control standards, and the annual market demand for coating silicone oil remains steadily increasing.
