Hits: 47 img

Aerogel felt is a new type of thermal insulation material composed of aerogel and reinforcing fibers. For new materials, it is essential to understand their parameters well. So, what are the parameters of aerogel felt?
Thermal conductivity coefficient
The thermal conductivity of aerogel felt is an important parameter. Thermal conductivity is an indicator of a material's heat transfer capacity, which determines the material's efficiency in the insulation process. The thermal conductivity of aerogel felt is usually between 0.015 and 0.025 W/(m·k) at room temperature, which means it has very low thermal conductivity and can effectively slow down the transfer of heat, thereby achieving a good insulation effect.
2. Thickness and Width
The thickness of aerogel felt is also a parameter that needs to be considered. It determines the number of insulation layers and the insulation effect of the material. Generally, the thickness of aerogel felt can be selected within the range of 1 to 20mm, and the specific thickness is determined based on actual needs and application scenarios. A thicker insulation layer can provide better insulation effect, but it will also increase the amount of material used and the cost. Generally, the width of aerogel felt is about 1.2 to 1.5m, which is convenient for construction and installation and can improve construction efficiency.
3. Density
The density of aerogel felt is also an important parameter. It determines the weight and volume of the material. The density of aerogel felt is usually between 160 and 240 kg/m³. This lightweight feature gives it a significant advantage in the field of thermal insulation, as it can reduce the self-weight of buildings and lower energy consumption.
4. Temperature Range
The applicable temperature range of aerogel blankets is also a parameter to be considered. Different application scenarios have different requirements for the high-temperature resistance of materials. The applicable temperature range of aerogel blankets is usually between -200℃ and 1000℃, which enables it to maintain stable insulation performance in various harsh environments.
5. Tensile strength
Tensile strength is also one of the parameters to be considered. Measured in pascals (Pa), tensile strength reflects a material's resistance to tensile stress and is directly related to the material's service life and reliability. Generally, the compressive strength of aerogel blankets is usually between 0.1 and 5 MPa.
As a new type of insulation material, aerogel felt has parameters covering physical properties, thermal insulation performance, temperature resistance performance and other characteristic parameters. The optimization and design of these parameters enable aerogel felt to demonstrate its outstanding insulation effect and application performance in various fields.
