Introduction to Vinyl Silicone Oil Products
Vinyl silicone oil, as the key raw material for the production of addition silicone rubber, silicone potting rubber and silicone gel, can further prepare high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber by skillfully mixing with cross-linking agent, reinforcing agent and anti-aging agent. Its preparation process is quite similar to that of dimethyl silicone oil, mainly through ring opening equilibrium reaction under the catalytic action of acid or base, replacing some methyl groups (Me) in polydimethylsiloxane with vinyl groups (Vi), thus obtaining polydimethylsiloxane with excellent reaction activity. During this process, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and tetramethyltetravinylcyclotetrasiloxane serve as raw materials, while tetramethyldivinyldisiloxane or hexamethyldisiloxane act as end capping agents to participate in the reaction.
Vinyl silicone oil, as a type of polydimethylsiloxane with chain like structures of different degrees of polymerization, usually appears in a liquid flow state. Its characteristics depend on the position of vinyl substitution. Therefore, by adjusting this position, various vinyl silicone oil products can be prepared, such as double ended vinyl silicone oil, end side vinyl silicone oil, single ended vinyl silicone oil, and end methyl side vinyl silicone oil.

Appearance characteristics of vinyl silicone oil
Vinyl silicone oil presents as a transparent oily substance that is non-toxic, odorless, and free of mechanical impurities, and has the characteristic of being non-volatile. It is insoluble in water, but can be miscible with solvents such as benzene, dimethyl ether, methyl ethyl ketone, tetrachlorocarbon, or kerosene. It can also be slightly soluble in acetone and ethanol. Its vapor pressure is extremely low, its flash point and ignition point are high, and its freezing point is low. As the number of segments n increases, the molecular weight gradually increases, leading to an increase in viscosity. Therefore, vinyl silicone oil has multiple viscosity choices.
Application areas of vinyl silicone oil
High temperature vulcanized silicone rubber production: Vinyl silicone oil is a key base material for producing high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV). High temperature vulcanized silicone rubber can be prepared by mixing with crosslinking agents, reinforcing agents, coloring agents, etc.
Preparation of liquid silicone rubber: Vinyl silicone oil is also an important basic material for the production of liquid silicone rubber. Combined with hydrogen containing crosslinking agents, platinum catalysts, etc., addition type liquid silicone rubber can be prepared, which is widely used in the organic silicon industry, textiles, protective films, and other fields.
New material development: Vinyl silicone oil can react with organic materials such as polyurethane and acrylic acid to produce new materials with superior properties such as weather resistance, aging resistance, UV resistance, and enhanced toughness, such as various modified coatings.
Electronic component protection: Vinyl silicone oil is also widely used in the electronic field, such as additive electronic adhesives, thermal conductive adhesives, etc., to provide complete sealing protection for sensitive electronic components.
Release agent raw material: Vinyl silicone oil is still the main raw material for release agents (release silicone oil), which helps to improve the demolding performance of the product.
