Advantages of methyl vinyl silicone oil:
(1) The viscosity temperature performance is the best among liquid lubricants, with minimal viscosity changes over a wide temperature range. Its pour point is generally less than -50 ℃, and some can reach as high as -70 ℃. When stored at low temperatures for a long time, the appearance and viscosity of its oil remain unchanged. It is a base oil that balances high temperature, low temperature, and a wide temperature range.
(2) Excellent thermal oxidation stability, such as thermal decomposition temperature>300 ℃, low evaporation loss (150 ℃, 30 days, evaporation loss is only 2%), oxidation test (200 ℃, 72 hours), small changes in viscosity and acid value.
(3) Excellent electrical insulation, volume resistance, etc. do not change within the range of room temperature to 130 ℃ (but the oil cannot contain water).
(4) It is a non-toxic and low foaming oil with strong anti foaming properties, which can be used as a defoamer, etc.

Disadvantages of methyl vinyl silicone oil:
(1) The lubricity of silicone oil is poor, especially for steel steel friction pairs.
(2) The thermal expansion coefficient of silicone oil is relatively high (which may cause overpressure problems).
(3) Gas solubility is high (difficult to design gas seal devices).
(4) A certain degree of moisture absorption (when the water content exceeds 100 × 10-6, the electrical performance sharply decreases).
(5) Low surface tension (prone to leakage from the machine).
How to identify silicone oil methods:
(1) Observation with the eyes: Fake silicone oil will be cloudy, have a strong odor, and have a foul smell;
(2) Test with fire: Use a glass or iron rod dipped in a small amount of silicone oil to ignite, and the one that can ignite and emit black smoke is white mineral oil. Pure silicone oil will not burn when ignited with fire, and it is odorless, clear, transparent, and non-toxic. The ignition point of silicone oil is 320 degreess.
(3) Testing method: Silicone oil will not freeze at -50 degrees, while fake silicone oil will appear cloudy or frozen.
