How to choose aerogel blankets?

Hits: 36 img

Aerogel felt is a very professional product. At present, it is widely used in petrochemical, thermal pipeline insulation, building internal and external wall insulation, new energy lithium battery insulation and fire prevention, LNG cryogenic and other fields. To select a good thermal insulation felt, you should consider the following aspects:
1. Usage scenario: Firstly, it is necessary to clarify the usage scenario of your project requirements, such as temperature, whether there is acid or alkali corrosion, whether it will be soaked in water, and the design service life;
2. Felt material: This has a lot to do with your use temperature. Generally, aerogel felts are made of glass fiber, and the maximum heat-resistant temperature of glass fiber is 700 ℃. Therefore, although aerogel can withstand a high temperature of more than 1000 ℃, it is useless if the basic material cannot withstand it. So before purchasing, you should tell the seller what your use temperature is, and the seller will recommend corresponding products to you;
3. Waterproof: there are two types of aerogel felt: hydrophilic and hydrophobic. As the name implies, hydrophilic means water absorption and hydrophobic means waterproof. Waterproof aerogel felt can achieve the effect of moisture-proof and anti-corrosion. Choose hydrophilic or hydrophobic products according to your needs;
4. Thermal conductivity and fire rating: There are many aerogel felts on the market, but there are two core data you must see, one is thermal conductivity, the other is fire rating. The thermal conductivity determines the insulation effect of the felt, and the fire rating is a guarantee for product safety. The thermal conductivity is below 0.017W/m · K, and Grade A1 is a standard for excellent aerogel insulation felt.
5. Product width: The aerogel felt is generally delivered in rolls. The larger the width, the more labor and consumption will be saved during installation and use. At the same time, the joints between products can be reduced to prevent heat loss due to joints.
The above are some main reference indicators for selecting aerogel felt products, but not absolute indicators. There are also indicators such as density, tensile strength, vibration loss rate and so on.
