China's chemical engineering "magic material" aerogel achieves large-scale industrialization

With the successful start-up of the 50,000 cubic meter annual silicon-based nano-aerogel composite material project at China Chemical Hualu New Materials Co., Ltd., the first batch of qualified silicon-based nano-aerogel composite insulation felt products were produced, marking that China's chemical engineering has taken it as its mission to strengthen the country through industry and has taken an important step in accelerating the creation of an original technology source and a modern industrial chain leader.

Aerogel composite material is a new type of nano-insulation material. It is the solid material with the lowest thermal conductivity and lowest density known so far. It has super long service life, super strong thermal insulation performance, super high fire resistance and superior mechanical properties. It is known as the "magic material that changes the world" and is widely used in petrochemical, thermal pipe network, construction, new energy vehicles and other fields. Aerogel, as an efficient thermal insulation and energy-saving material, is a national basic strategic frontier new material, which is of great strategic significance for reducing carbon emissions and achieving the "dual carbon" goal.
This project is currently the domestic aerogel project with leading process technology and leading automation. It adopts fully automatic supercritical drying method to prepare aerogel technology, with a construction scale of 300,000 cubic meters/year. The project is divided into three phases. The first phase of the project will start construction in February 2021 with an annual output of 50,000 cubic meters of aerogel composite insulation felt production equipment and supporting public and auxiliary projects; the second phase of the main product will add 100,000 cubic meters/year of silicon-based aerogel composite materials, supporting new silicon-based materials such as silicates; the third phase of the main product will add 150,000 cubic meters/year of silicon-based aerogel composite materials, supporting other new silicon-based materials.



In recent years, China National Chemical Engineering has adhered to the national strategic planning of new chemical materials and high-end chemicals as a guide, exerted its own expertise, actively implemented the national "dual carbon" strategy, and took key core "neck-stuck" technologies such as new chemical materials that are monopolized by foreign countries and not industrially produced in China as the research and development direction, and promoted the upgrading of the industrial chain and industrial development with technological upgrading, and achieved a number of scientific research results and landed a number of industrial projects. China National Chemical Engineering will rely on the silicon-based aerogel project, centering on the upstream and downstream of silicon-based aerogel composite materials and derivative industries, create a silicon-based material innovation platform, integrate the technology and business resources in the fields of polysilicon, organic silicon, silicon-based nano-aerogel, etc., and strive to build a comprehensive solution service provider, high-end chemicals and advanced materials supplier in the field of industrial engineering.
