What is nano aerogel? Nano aerogel, also known as nano dry gel. It is an advanced insulation building material developed by nanotechnology. When most of the solvent is removed from the gel, the liquid content in the gel is much lower than the solid content, or the medium containing the gel space structure is gas, and its surface is solid, also known as dry gel, also known as aerogel. Its structure is more delicate and is an indispensable insulation material in the contemporary construction industry.

1. Low thermal conductivity: The thermal conductivity of aerogel is only several times that of traditional materials.
2. High fireproof grade: non-flammable grade A. Oxygen index is greater than 60%. No smoke, no droplets, no harmful gases.
3. Strong waterproof performance: hydrophobicity>99.5%, water absorption<5.0%, water absorption<0.5%.
4. Long service life: Aerogel has a unique three-dimensional network structure, with a long-term shrinkage rate of 650℃≤1%, no melting sintering, and powdering. Aerogel is an inorganic material, and it does not age for a long time under ultraviolet radiation, and its good weather resistance can reach more than 20 years.
5. Green environmental protection: It has passed the AQ1 standard of the most stringent GBT 20285-2006 standard in the fire protection industry. The surface dust is amorphous silica, and it has passed the safety standards of the Association for Industrial Hygiene (ACGIH).
6. Convenient construction: Aerogel has thin thickness, strong tensile strength, high compressive strength, low density, light weight, and can be cut without professional tools and equipment.
Other applications of nano aerogel Nano aerogel can also be made into nano aerogel felt, which increases the scope of use of nano aerogel. I will introduce it in detail below.
Nano aerogel felt is an excellent material with excellent thermal insulation performance. Its pore size is smaller than the mean free path of air molecules under atmospheric pressure, so air molecules are approximately static in the gaps of aerogel, thus avoiding convection heat transfer of air. The volume density of aerogel is very low, and the tortuous path of the nanoparticle structure also hinders gas state and solid state heat conduction. The gap wall can reduce thermal radiation to the lowest level. These three aspects work together, almost all heat transfer methods are blocked, that is, aerogel achieves an unparalleled thermal insulation effect of other materials, even far lower than the thermal conductivity of several air 0.025 W/mK at room temperature, and lower than 0.018 W/mK.
