With the continuous improvement of aerogel research and the strong support of national policies, aerogels are gradually commercialized and appear in the public's field of vision. Aerogel insulation felt is one of the aerogel products, which is used for thermal insulation in the fields of construction, industrial equipment, petrochemicals, etc. What are the advantages of aerogel felt compared with traditional thermal insulation materials?
1. Aerogel felt and glass wool
Both aerogel felt and glass wool are Class A non-combustible materials with excellent fire resistance and fireproof properties, but the maximum use temperature of aerogel felt is 1400℃, which is higher than the 538℃ of glass wool. The thermal conductivity of aerogel is 0.017 (w/m.k)/25℃, and the thermal conductivity of glass wool is 0.033~0.040 (w/m.k)/25℃, so aerogel felt has more advantages than glass wool in terms of thermal insulation performance.
2. Aerogel felt and rock wool
The maximum operating temperature of rock wool is 800℃, and the thermal conductivity is 0.037~0.043(w/m.k)/25℃, so aerogel felt has better high temperature resistance and thermal insulation performance. In addition, the density of aerogel felt is very small, only 3 kg per cubic meter, while the density of rock wool is 80-200KG per cubic meter, so the load of rock wool is heavier.
