Study on properties of high adhesion silicone anti-fog and anti-reflection coating by sol-gel method

The researchers selected 3-glycyloxy-propyl trimethoxy-silane (GPTMS) and N- [3- (trimethoxy-silyl) propyl] ethylenediamine (NTMDA) as raw materials, and obtained the hydroxy-containing organic bridged-sesquioxane precursor GN by epoxy-amino ring-opening reaction. GN was mixed with ethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) in a certain proportion, and the co-hydrolyzed polycondensation was carried out under the catalysis of ammonia water to obtain silicone sol, and the sol was deposited on the substrate to obtain a series of silicone anti-reflection coatings, and then the prepared coatings were heat treated at different temperatures to obtain anti-reflection anti-fog coatings with good adhesion. The effects of GN content on the microstructure, optical properties and adhesion of the coating and the effects of heat treatment temperature on the anti-fog and optical properties of the coating were observed.


The experimental results show that GN has the function of "bonding" and "making holes". When V (GN) ∶V (TEOS) is 0.33 ∶1 and the treatment temperature is 150℃, the transmittance of the coating is not only as high as 99.2%, but also has a good anti-fog effect, and the adhesion reaches 0 level.
