Study on aging resistance of silicone sealant bonded to different substrates

In order to improve the aging performance of silicone sealant used for bonding different substrates, some researchers used two-component silicone sealant to prepare shear test parts with different bonding substrates and different adhesive layer thicknesses to test the mechanical properties and bonding properties of the sealant after treatment under different aging environmental conditions. The results show that the mechanical properties and bonding properties of the sealant are different under different bonding substrates, different thickness of adhesive layer and different aging environment, and the two-component silicone sealant is well bonded to the tested substrates. In the set thickness range, the thickness of adhesive layer is negatively correlated with the shear strength. In the test aging environment, when there is no bonding failure, the influence of wet and heat aging on mechanical properties is the greatest.
