The power of electronic products is continuously increasing. PCB circuit boards, power modules, IGBT circuits, and driver boards generate a lot of heat during operation, and local high temperatures can easily cause circuit aging and component failure. Thermal management has become a key aspect in the design of circuit products. Conductive modified silicone oil and insulating silicone oil have been continuously expanded in applications in circuit heat dissipation, conductive interfaces, and component impregnation, taking into account both insulation safety and heat conduction requirements.
After filling with conductive powder modified by silicone oil, the conductive silicone oil has excellent heat conduction capabilities while maintaining the excellent insulation properties of the organic silicone matrix. It can be used as a simple conductive medium to fill the small gaps between heat-generating components and heat sinks in circuits, discharging accumulated heat and reducing the operating temperature of the circuits. Ordinary conductive greases tend to dry out and harden, while the conductive silicone oil system is resistant to aging and is not prone to cracking or loss over long-term use, making it suitable for industrial control equipment and energy storage circuit boards that require long-term uninterrupted operation.
For open circuit modules, insulating silicone oil impregnation can cover circuit solder joints and electronic components, preventing dust accumulation from causing local overheating and short circuits, and also isolating the air to delay the oxidation of solder joints. In high-voltage control circuits, high dielectric stability silicone oil can suppress local discharge and improve the safety margin of circuit operation, suitable for internal circuits of charging piles, inverters, and energy storage converters.
When selecting circuit-specific silicone oil for production, the volatile content must be strictly controlled to avoid small molecules volatilizing and condensing on the circuit surface to form insulation contamination, hindering heat dissipation. Low-volatile electronic-grade silicone oil has excellent thermal stability and stable performance in a wide temperature range. The rapid development of the new energy industry has driven the continuous growth in demand for high-power circuit modules, and circuit thermal management materials have opened up a broad market space. Conductive and insulating silicone oil will continue to play an important role in improving the reliability of electronic circuits.
