The traditional dimethyl silicone oil has stable chemical properties and a natural degradation cycle of several decades. A large amount of discarded daily chemical and coating products are prone to cause soil residual pollution. The new degradable silicone oil is grafted with siloxane main chains using plant-extracted polyols. Under the action of soil microorganisms and water enzymatic degradation, it can completely decompose into carbon dioxide and water within 6-12 months, without silicon element residues, and fully complies with European and American environmental protection regulations.
The product retains the core functions of silicone oil such as lubrication, hydrophobicity, and stable foaming, and can be used as a substitute for ordinary silicone oil in three major fields: low-irritation personal care, water-based industrial coatings, and agricultural additives. In agricultural scenarios, the degradable silicone oil acts as a pesticide carrier agent, uniformly covering the leaves of crops, improving the adhesion of the pesticide solution, and not being easily washed away by rain, with no chemical residues after harvest, which meets the needs of green agriculture development; in the daily care field, it is suitable for mother and baby care, organic skin care product lines, and does not emit irritating small molecules.
The domestic IOTA series of bio-degradable silicone oil has passed the EU environmental protection testing and has a cost reduction of 22% compared to imported similar products. Many beauty and agricultural enterprises have placed long-term purchase orders. Industry analysts say that in the next three years, the annual average growth rate of the degradable and environmentally friendly silicone oil market will exceed 35%, making it a core growth sector of the silicone oil category.
