Silicone oil resin resists high-temperature corrosion

Hits: 294 img

The engine, exhaust manifold, and turbine housing of automobiles are exposed to a high-temperature environment ranging from 180 to 300 degrees Celsius for a long time. The engine oil and exhaust gas cause severe corrosion and alternating cold and hot impacts. The high-temperature protective coating made of modified polyester silicone oil resin is a core protective material for the power components of fuel vehicles, filling the temperature resistance gap of traditional epoxy and pure polyester coatings.
This coating is based on phenyl silicone oil as the film-forming material. The Si-O chemical bond bond energy is far greater than that of ordinary carbon-chain resins. It does not crack or powderize even when working continuously at 220 degrees Celsius for a long time, and its performance does not deteriorate even under short-term 300-degree Celsius high-temperature impact. When sprayed on the cast iron and aluminum alloy engine housings, it forms a dense isolation layer, preventing oil leakage corrosion and tail gas acidic gas erosion. At the same time, it reduces the carbon adhesion on the component surface, significantly improving the engine cleanliness.
The durability test data of car manufacturers show that the exhaust manifold without the silicone oil high-temperature coating develops rust spots and peeling after 3 years of use. After spraying the silicone oil coating, there are no obvious corrosion marks after 7 years of driving. The coating system has its own lubrication and demolding properties, which can reduce the adhesion of high-temperature carbon deposits to the metal substrate, making later maintenance and cleaning more convenient.
Currently, the domestic IOTA series high-temperature silicone oil resins have been supplied in batches to the power component supply factories of leading domestic car manufacturers, replacing expensive imported raw materials. With the implementation of the National VI B emission standard, the engine operating temperature continues to rise, and the demand for high-temperature silicone oil coatings is steadily increasing. It has now covered the coating production lines for all types of power components in passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
