Silicone oil is an organic silicon compound (polydimethylsiloxane), which possesses lubricating properties, hydrophobicity, thermal stability and chemical inertness. It is widely used in the fields of cosmetics, medical industry, etc. Its main functions include lubrication protection, reducing friction, moisture-proof insulation, and improving skin sensation, etc. It is non-irritating and has high safety. 


1.Lubrication protection 
Silicone oil can form a uniform lubricating film on various material surfaces, effectively reducing the friction force at the contact points. It is widely used in mechanical lubrication, medical device coatings, skincare and hair care, and other fields. 
When applied to the skin, it can form a breathable protective layer, blocking external irritations and alleviating skin dryness, peeling, cracking and other discomforts. 




2. Waterproof and moisture-proof 
Silicone oil has excellent hydrophobic properties: It can be sprayed on electronic components and metal workpieces in industry to prevent rust and moisture, thereby extending the service life of equipment and products; when added to daily care products (such as shampoo and conditioner), it can wrap around hair strands and smooth out the cuticle layers, making the hair smooth and free from knots. 




3. Defoaming and stabilization (system stability) 
In industrial production, it is an efficient defoamer. It can suppress excessive foam generated during processes such as fermentation and petroleum processing, ensuring smooth production processes and maintaining the stability of the material liquid system. When added to cosmetics, silicon oil can optimize the texture of cream and lotion, preventing the separation of raw materials and oil-water separation. 




4. Insulation resistance to high and low temperatures 
It has excellent insulation performance and can withstand a temperature range of -50℃ to 250℃. It is suitable for sealing insulation of electronic components and can also be used as a special protective substrate for high-temperature working conditions.
