Hits: 170 img

Relying on the high reactivity of Si-H bonds and the excellent comprehensive properties of organosilicon, hydrogen-containing silicone oil has been deeply penetrated into many fields such as addition-type silicone rubber, textile printing and dyeing, new energy, electronics and electrical engineering, and high-end coatings. As a core crosslinking agent, modifier and functional additive, its application value is not only reflected in improving the performance of downstream products, but also in promoting the transformation of related industries towards high-end and functionalization. Driven by the dual factors of downstream industrial upgrading and tightening environmental policies, the application scenarios of hydrogen-containing silicone oil continue to expand, market demand grows steadily, and the industry presents high-end, green and customized development characteristics.
The addition-type silicone rubber field is the core application scenario of hydrogen-containing silicone oil, accounting for more than 55%. As the core crosslinking agent of addition-type silicone rubber, hydrogen-containing silicone oil cooperates with vinyl silicone oil and platinum catalyst to realize rapid crosslinking through the addition reaction between Si-H bonds and vinyl groups, preparing silicone rubber products with different hardness and properties. In high-end medical silicone rubber, high-purity hydrogen-containing silicone oil can prepare non-toxic, tasteless and biocompatible products, which are used for medical devices such as medical catheters and artificial organs; in aerospace silicone rubber, its high and low temperature resistance and radiation resistance can meet the needs of extreme environments, and it is used for seals, shock absorbers and other components; in electronic silicone rubber, its excellent electrical insulation can ensure the stable operation of electronic components, and it is used in packaging adhesives, thermal conductive adhesives, etc.
In the fields of textile printing and dyeing and new energy, the application advantages of hydrogen-containing silicone oil are becoming increasingly prominent. In textile printing and dyeing, hydrogen-containing silicone oil is used as a fabric waterproof finishing agent and softener. It forms a firm combination with the hydroxyl and carboxyl groups on the fiber surface through Si-H bonds, endowing the fabric with excellent hydrophobicity, softness and wash resistance, and improving the antistatic property of the fabric. It is widely used in various fabrics such as cotton, polyester and nylon; in the new energy field, in photovoltaic modules, hydrogen-containing silicone oil is used for backsheet coating and junction box sealing, improving the weather resistance and waterproofness of the modules. In 2024, the consumption of hydrogen-containing silicone oil in the photovoltaic field reached 52,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%; in power batteries, it is used for battery pack structural sealing and thermal management, improving the safety and service life of the batteries.
In the fields of electronics and electrical engineering and high-end coatings, the high-end application of hydrogen-containing silicone oil continues to break through. In the electronics and electrical field, high-purity hydrogen-containing silicone oil can be used as a modifier of semiconductor packaging materials to improve the high and low temperature resistance, insulation and adhesion of packaging materials, ensuring the precision and reliability of chips; in high-end coatings, it is used as a modifier to improve the weather resistance, wear resistance and hydrophobicity of coatings, avoid coating cracking and chalking, and adapt to scenarios such as exterior wall coatings and industrial anti-corrosion coatings. In addition, in the field of organosilicon modified materials, hydrogen-containing silicone oil can be used to modify epoxy resin, polyurethane, etc., improving the toughness, high and low temperature resistance and hydrophobicity of materials, and expanding the application boundary of materials.
The direction of industrial upgrading is clear, mainly presenting three trends: first, high-end upgrading, focusing on the R & D of products with high purity, low volatility and precise hydrogen content, adapting to harsh scenarios such as semiconductors and medical care; second, green development, promoting solvent-free synthesis processes, reducing VOC emissions, and developing recyclable and environmentally friendly products, conforming to the dual-carbon goal; third, customized adaptation, developing special hydrogen-containing silicone oil according to the needs of downstream segmented scenarios, improving the compatibility between products and downstream systems. In the future, with the continuous development of downstream high-end industries, the market space of hydrogen-containing silicone oil will continue to expand, the industrial value will be further improved, and it will promote the transformation of the organosilicon industry towards high-quality development.
