? law education in Hehai University began in 1988. The organization of law education in Hehai University has gone through the development stages, such as the law teaching and Research Office of the Department of Social Sciences of Hehai University (1988), the law department of the school of Humanities of Hehai University (1995), the law department of Hehai University (2003), and the law School of Hehai University (2006). Since its establishment, the school of law of Hehai University has made remarkable achievements in team building, personnel training, discipline development, scientific research and other fields by holding academic conferences, undertaking fund projects, publishing academic works, publishing academic papers, participating in social services and other multi-level and multi field activities.
Law school has a relatively complete and distinctive discipline system. It has undergraduate law major, first level discipline authorization point of master's degree of law, second level discipline doctor's point of legal sociology. It enrolls master's degree students in six second level disciplines, including legal theory, constitutional law and administrative law, civil and commercial law, economic law, environmental and resource protection law, and international law. It also enrolls master's degree students in second level discipline of legal sociology and doctorate point of basic principles of Marxism The research direction of the theory of justice is to recruit doctoral students.
Law school has a sound grassroots teaching and academic organization, with a grassroots teaching organization: Law Department; five grassroots academic organizations: Institute of theoretical law, Institute of constitution and administrative law (Research Center of public utility law), Institute of civil and commercial law, Institute of environmental and resource law, Institute of international law; and a law practice center. At the same time, the research and training center of water conservancy policy and legal system (jointly established by the development research center of the Ministry of water resources and Hehai University), the research center of water conservancy legal system (off campus research base of Humanities and social sciences of Jiangsu University, jointly established by the water conservancy Department of Jiangsu Province and Hehai University), and the legal aid center of Hehai University are affiliated with the school of law. Law school is young and full of vitality. It is a united and progressive collective. The law school has 50 employees. Among them, there are 40 full-time teachers, 8 professors and 18 associate professors. The proportion of teachers who have obtained doctor's degree is 93%, and 3 doctoral supervisors.
In law education, law school has always been committed to the combination of theory and practice, routinely carrying out "simulated court", professional social practice, "Academic Salon" and other activities, and through the legal aid center of Hehai University to provide students with a regular platform for training legal practice operation skills and serving the public. In recent years, teachers of law school have undertaken a number of national and provincial social science fund projects, especially a number of policy research projects of the Ministry of water resources and research projects entrusted by major river basin institutions, which provides a full range of theoretical support for the construction of water conservancy rule of law in China.

Teachers of law school actively serve the society, and many of them hold the positions of legal adviser or decision-making advisory committee member of Party committee, National People's Congress, government and other legal advisers of Jiangsu Province, member of Jiangsu judge and prosecutor selection committee, special member of professional research group of Jiangsu People's Procuratorate procuratorial committee, and special consultant of Nanjing Intermediate People's court.
